Guests enjoy free access to 2 swimming pools through an arrangement with the award-winning Il Collaccio agriturismo holiday centre less than 5 minutes walk away. The area has a number of excellent restaurants. Activity opportunities include walking, cycling, rafting, canyoning, art, culture, vineyards, gastronomy and numerous hillside towns and villages for which Umbria is famous.

The owners occupy a separately accessed smaller apartment on the Lower Ground Floor. The properties are on different levels and outdoor space of each part is not overlooked by the other.

Owners will meet you on arrival, assist with any issues that require attention, and provide advice and information on local attractions and activities

Castelvecchio is a small hamlet and generally very quiet especially outside peak season. The Il Collaccio holiday village 5 minutes walk away has an excellent restaurant. There are swimming two pools at this location to which our customers enjoy free access

Nearest village is Preci which has a bar, restaurant, and a small range of shops. 

There is a small supermaket in Borgo Cerreto, a 15-20 minute drive. Bigger supermarkets in Norcia (30 mins)

Nearest major town is Spoleto (50 mins) which is an attractive town with an excellent range of shops/supermarkets, restaurants, museums and art galleries.

Use of a car is advised and public transport very limited. Nearest station is Spoleto (50 mins) which has a good service to Rome, Perugia and Ancona. Nearest airports are Perugia (1 hour), Ancona (2 hours) and Rome (2.5 hours). Car hire is possible in Spoleto and all airports (reservation advised).

The ground floor of the house (including a bathroom and bedroom) is wheelchair accessible. 

For the cooler months the house has pellet fired central heating. Pellets are charged at delivered cost (€9 per bag in October 2023). An allowance for hot water is included in tariff.
